"You want to take photos where, now?" I raised an eyebrow. A few months before their wedding, Brendan, Paula, and I sat around a cafe in Manhattan over tea and cookies and they explained their wedding day vision to me, which started with photos of their Manhattan Marriage Bureau wedding ceremony, portraits on the streets of Red Hook in Brooklyn, and a few photos in Greenwood Cemetery. That last bit was the part I raised my eyebrow at.
It turns out that Greenwood Cemetery is pretty beautiful, and we got some great photos on the grounds and the chapel. After, we walked the streets of Red Hook, which has amazing architecture and was somewhere I'd wanted to shoot for a long time. Finally, we headed to Cata, a tapas bar in the Lower East Side for their intimate wedding reception. The staff was top notch, and they have an entire menu dedicated to gin and tonics.
This photographer approves.
What a great wedding; intimate, and with fun, fabulous friends from all over. I had a wonderful time with Brendan and Paula. Congratulations!
