Sonia and I had a hilarious "girl moment" during this shoot. She wanted cute "having ice cream" engagement photos, and she specifically wanted gelato from L' Albero dei gelati on 5th Avenue in Park Slope [the section of Brooklyn we both live in, and where all of these photos were taken]. Paul mused, "Oh, any ice cream will work, right? Because there's a [redacted*] Ice Cream Parlor right here, and we don't have to walk quite as far to get to it. Let's just go there." and I was like, "No. No. I get it. You want what you want when you want ice cream, and it is SUPER NOT the same." and Sonia nodded. I was right, of course, and we got the gelato, because I take dessert very seriously.

I took them to a few of my tried-and-true spots for photos first, and we "borrowed" a few stoops here and there throughout.

How great is their dog, Bayze? He's was so incredibly sweet and mellow during our shoot, and he has the best smile. My other favorite detail about this shoot is that I really loved that Paul wears an engagement ring, too. So egalitarian!

*[inferior ice cream shop I won't call out, because rude, but you probably know if you live in Brooklyn, too, because they're all over, and even though the Italian ice they sell is pretty good, the ice cream is most certainly not anything close to fancy and wonderful gelato.]
