In New York City, the only interactions I have on the subway with strangers are incidents I'd not care to repeat, but Brendan and Lynden found each other down there - on the F train, specifically - wearing Washington Huskies shirts. They were heading to the same party, so they got to hang out that night, and last weekend, they hosted their wedding at the Green Building in Brooklyn. (We shot their engagement photos on the F train, too. I mean, where else?)

Brendan got ready in their Park Slope apartment with his groomsmen. Photographer Taylor Baker was my co-shooter for the day, and she was on hand to photograph them there. Lynden and her bridesmaids got ready at the Green Building itself. The guys came over to the property, and we did the their first look in front. The rest of the night unfolded wonderfully, with their ketubah signing, an ecumenical Christian-Jewish ceremony, and a gleeful hora with guests who loved to dance!

Favourite bits of the evening:

Lynden's mother wanted a lot of family photos, and took to heart my advice that we have precise lists and a family member who knows everyone to be the "rounder upper". It worked out so well, and I got to meet everyone who came in from around the country to celebrate with them.

Lynden's grandparents Rita and Karl had monogrammed cocktail napkins at their wedding 62 years ago. One of those napkins was tucked into a bag that was pinned to Lynden's bouquet for "something old".

These two wanted cake, but also wanted to dance, and so did both at the same time, which was phenomenal. This is living your best life.

The. Sunset. We had been a little worried about Hurricane Hermine, but it blew out to sea and we had the most amazing pink sky for their "Romantics" on the Gowanus canal.

Planner Adina Franconi from Hoopla Events was so put together, and made the day go so smoothly for everyone.
