It is always such a treat to photograph in someone’s home (especially a lovely one in the suburbs, a few miles away from the suburban mall! Hey! I like to shop!) We had so much fun on this day, in the front yard, back yard, and living room. How lucky are these kids to grow up with a mom who plays piano?
Teasing a smile out of little Chloe wasn’t easy for me (I got one a few times!) but all of her best ones were saved for her brother. I hope they continue to be such good pals as they get older.
I love family shots, and these folks were so much fun. We did our shoot late afternoon and wrapped up about three seconds before the heavens opened and rained all over. Phew!
I got to spend a fun Saturday afternoon hanging out with Kevin, Carmen, and their little guy “Shorty”! Here is Shorty giving me a thumbs up. He’s an awesome little dude. We took photos on their front porch, in the house where Shorty was born last summer, and then we headed to the park to monkey around!

I really enjoy working with clients and meeting new people, but turning my camera on people I love is a whole other level of joy.
Here are my cousins with their eight week old. They mentioned there were no photos of the three of them since he was born, and I decided that just would not do.

We were at a family gathering when I stole them away for a quick 15 minute photo shoot. The little guy would NOT wake up for me! That’s ok. I’m looking forward to many years of chasing him around with my camera.
My friend Emily asked me to get some shots of her two year old, Jack. We did a totally appropriate “in the playground” theme, followed, of course, by an “in the tub” session. He called me “Mamer”.
