Pam and Ray have been married for two years and decided they needed love-filled photos of themselves. They live in Park Slope, Brooklyn, too, so we met at their apartment, and then I had them walk me the few blocks home, snapping photos along the way. This kind of photo shoot is my favorite. My neighborhood is so amazing, it was one of the first nice days of spring, and Pam and Ray were so kind and fun to hang out with. Their height difference is charming; she was in heels and he still towers over her.
Many people ask me what to wear for photo shoots, and the real answer is that you can wear whatever you’d like, but these guys illustrate a lot of points that I like to cover: bright colors, coordinating outfits with matching levels of formality, a scarf to give a bit of difference, and COMFORTABLE.
A tiny production note: In that first photo I used my flash. It felt like a weird choice on such a sunny day, but I was able to illuminate their faces and the big blue sky behind them (we were on their balcony), and I’m thrilled with the results.
