Nicki and Tatyana are such a great couple. I love that they're a little silly and totally into making each other smile. They're also dog people, which is always a plus in my book. The first thing I had to do walking into Nick and Tatyana's apartment is greet their dog who leapt up on me for kisses. She then followed me around while I was photographing, in full on "WHERE GOING? I HALP." mode. It was pretty awesome.
They got ready at their East Village apartment together. I told the story on Instagram of having one of their friends get down a geode they had on a high display shelf so I could take a shot of her engagement ring inside of it.
Laid out in their kitchen was a champagne and bagels spread; there's no better way to start a New York City wedding, I think. Their block was under construction (it was Friday the 13th, so we jokingly blamed that for the crummy timing). Cabs took us to City Hall for their wedding ceremony.
After the wedding, we went to Washington Square Park for their elopement portraits. Nick wore striped socks for their wedding, and they had bought a matching pair of socks for their baby who will be arriving in a few months. He had the baby socks tucked into his suit jacket, and showed his sentimental secret to Tatyana in the park, making her happy-cry. So sweet!
