I second shot this wedding at the Brooklyn Winery, which means I was backup to the lead photographer, Tanya Salazar. I love doing these, because it gives me a chance to work with another great photographer and see how they do things, help out in a cool “community over competition” way, and get a gig on a day I wasn’t working.
I wasn’t there for the bride getting ready; instead I hung out with the groom and groomsmen in their room, getting ready at the Williamsburg Hotel, as well as take a few of the bride’s wedding day details: her amazing Jimmy Choo shoes, their wedding rings, and flowers from her mother’s garden. I also watched as the groom took the time to polish his loafers.
The couple had their first look around the corner from the hotel in front of some only-in-Brooklyn street art. For their portrait session, we all walked together from the hotel to the Brooklyn Winery for their ceremony and reception, taking photos the whole way, on one of the most gorgeous late spring days of the year.
