Here is an example of my affordable mini portrait session. I am running it as a winter special specifically for my neighbors in Park Slope, Brooklyn (and those that are willing to travel here). Jennifer and David are very close to expecting their first baby, and thought some maternity photos in the park would be a sweet way to commemorate their pregnancy. They were so sweet and fun to work with.
We started in their kitchen! I know that doing maternity photos in a kitchen sounds strange, but it had such beautiful light I insisted. They trusted me, and the results are thrilling. It's another example of not needing a fancy studio set up to take creative maternity photos. I just used clever angles and techniques to disguise the dishwasher! Then we went to the Old Stone House in Washington Park and took some lifestyle portraits - and got caught in the rain. It was fine, though; I think umbrella photos are very romantic, and the gray light makes portraits beautiful. Plus, these two were so fun and game it didn't matter!
Jennifer is illustrating one of the biggest pointers I give to people deciding what to wear to their portrait sessions: add a pop of color and texture. This scarf does both, and gives a pretty touch to all of these photos.
