Kendra requested late pregnancy maternity photos for her, as well as some family portraits of her husband and five year old son to commemorate their last few weeks as a family of three. They are a military family, and we took some photos right before Rayshawn went off on a tour of duty.
I got to their apartment while Kendra was still putting the finishing touches on her hair, so Jeremiah picked up a copy of Green Eggs and Ham and read it to me proudly while I sneaked in a few photos of him and his book.
After taking some outdoor portraits in the park and on the streets of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, we headed back to their apartment to shoot some artistic maternity boudoir photos. I like to remind clients that they don't need a fancy set up to get creative pregnancy photos, and this is is a great example. We posed Kendra against a plain wall in their bedroom, and she wrapped up in a fitted bed sheet. I then did a few quick adjustments to it, and it gave her a fun garment-looking thing to wear. I adore how this belly photo came out. (In fact, we did a whole series of artistic black and white maternity photos in their bedroom.)
The photo of five year old Jeremiah posing like a tiny GQ model makes me laugh. He leaned on the wall like that himself! Isn't he a handsome little dude?
